TOOL #5 – Form a steering group

In the spirit of restorative practices, form a steering group of stakeholders made up of residents and professionals involved in neighborhood life (social landlords, neighborhood workers, police mediators, city representatives) to:

  • collectively establish rules of life in the neighborhood shared by all;
  • create restorative habits, such as meetings at regular intervals which allow us to take stock of the evolution of the problems encountered (are they resolved?);
  • Mobilize and plan preventive actions with neighborhood stakeholders;
  • Cultivate common values;
  • Train the members of the steering group in non-violent communication and restorative practices so as to make them facilitators of the resolution of neighborhood conflicts.

Our Method

Identify good and promising practices.

Develop tools and processes adapted to the problems encountered.
Test and evaluate the efficiency of the tools in real conditions.
Disseminate results and disseminate experiences.
